Gender issues and Maths
Objetivo(s):
-To learn about statistics and probability calculus.
-Bring awareness on women discrimination and marginalisation. Compared time of work and time of leisure.
-Learn about women that contributed to the development of mathematics
Actividades:
-Plenary. Teachers introduction to gender issues and statistics. Preparing a survey card.
-Individual task. Performing a family enquiry, filling the survey card.
-Individual task. Excel statistics. Probability calculus and hazard analysis.
-Plenary. Teachers lecture on Maths history and women contribution to maths development.
-Individual Task. Join, learn and report on biographies of famous women that contributed to maths. Biographies shall be found in Internet and dictionaries and articles delivered by the teacher.
-Working Group Task. Preparing posters of each famous woman.
-Posters show to be exhibited in the school centre on woman's day (8th of march).

-Enciclopedies and dictionaries.
-Biographies, books and articles on the life of: Hipatia, Emilia Breteuil, Ada Byron, Sophie Germain, Carolina Herschel, Sofía Kovalevskaya, Agnesi, Noeder, etc.

Esta actividad fue desarrollada dentro del programa Mundilab como parte de un eje de trabajo para abordar la perspectiva de género en el conjunto del curriculum.
